  • Personal measurements vs. pattern sizes

  • How to adjust your pattern to fit your shape

  • How to make stays both front and back lacing - if desired

  • Cutting and assembling your fitting pattern

  • Fine tuning your pattern

  • Cutting your stays - cover, canvas and lining, binding

     LESSON 3:

  • General Construction - joining the pieces together

  • Sewing the channels for fully boned or partially boned stays

  • Boning - different methods for plastic feather boning, splint and metal
  • Shaping the boning for different channels
  • Reinforcement boning - when and where, if necessary

  •  LESSON 4:

  • Binding - using self binding or tape

  • Eyelets - hand stitched rather than metal, how and why

  • Wearing your stays - 18th century dressing from the inside out
