CHALLENGE #4: Skeleton Hunt: 
Deadline: Oct. 13
Go to our Costume Encyclopedia and hunt for dancing skeletons (above) in the database. The dancing skeletons are hopping throughout the Encyclopedia's database. The skeletons are in five areas of the database. Look below the directions to see the five clues as to where to search.
DIRECTIONS:
Use the database's search feature and the following clues to find the skeletons. The skeleton can be seen on the ***details*** pages of the costume descriptions. Do the database searches for each question to find the skeletons. You results will appear. Then click on the ***details*** link to see if the skeleton is hiding there. One the details pages, there is a hidden message in the ***creator*** field. Copy it, and send it in your email answers for this challenge.
NOTE: Our Encyclopedia database is brand new. If you need help using it, please ask here. Put in the email's message header "Encyclopedia help."
SKELETON LOCATION CLUES:
1. We have been putting an 1887 British fancy dress costume book into the Encyclopedia. Right now, there are about 150 costume descriptions from this book online. A crazy dancing skeleton got into this area near the beginning of the book section. Do a search in the SOURCE field for: fancy dress. See if you can find the skeleton. I have a couple of thousand more descriptions to add from this book, but that skeleton is in my way!!!
2. My favorite 1920s fashion designer is Jean Patou. A skeleton is hiding on his database entries. Do a search in the COSTUME/CHARACTER field for: Jean Patou.
3. Our Costume Classroom gloves' instructor, Franchesca Havas, lost her gloves to one of those pesty skeletons. Do a search in the COSTUME/CHARACTER field: gloves.
4. That skeleton has taken away our Chimney Sweeper from 1814 British Occupation section. That should be enough hints, you figure out what field to search! Find that darn skeleton in the Encyclopedia!
5. Our Costume Encyclopedia contains some character costume descriptions from William Shakespeare's plays. Name the plays by William Shakespeare in the database and find which character the skeleton took. Hint: search the CREATOR field.

CHALLENGE #5: Costume Ball: Deadline: Oct. 13
The Costume Gallery hosted an Online Costume Ball during the Halloween seasons from 1999-2003. Go the the Online Costume Ball and answer the following questions for each year of the Ball.
1. 1998: During this Ball, three guests came with snakes on their costumes. Two of these guests came as a couple and are seen in one photo. What are the guests' name? Their names are under their photo.
2. 1999: A section of this ball was devoted to a certain person. What was her name? On that same devotion webpage, two people are wearing the same costume in different decades. What are those two people's names?
3. 2000: What a strange year at the Ball. A guest came dressed as a disease. What is the name of this guest and describe the costume?
4. 2001: A couple celebrated a romantic 10th anniversary at this Ball? What are the couple's names and what country are they from?
5. 2002: Find these three guests that are creatures of nature: bird, crustacean, and an animal. What are their guest names?

CHALLENGE #6: Encyclopedia Characters: Deadline: Oct. 13
The Costume Gallery's Costume Encyclopedia contains about 200 character costume descriptions from plays, operas, poems, songs, paintings, books, etc. I have added five new characters, that you need to research the following:
A. Type of publication and author. If the publication is an opera, the composer and libretto.
B. Setting: Time and place. Sometimes the place is not available. The time is the setting the character appears in, not necessarily when the publication was written.
C. Source of research: What is the URL of your research source. Wikipedia is not a valid source except if you can not find any other source. Note: The source that I have listed in the Encyclopedia is the one that the costume descriptions taken from.
Go to Costume Encyclopedia and do a search for the following characters. On each character's ***details*** link, there are hints about the character. Research the following characters:

Search in The Costume Gallery's Fashion Color Database (FCD) website to find the answers to the following questions. The answers will be located in the free access areas of the database, the Color Name Index, Articles, and the Bibliography.
